Calling all Pacific County Democrats: we are going to march in the Labor Day Parade, Sunday, September 5 in South Bend. This fabulous and fun filled parade is a real crowd pleaser.
The parade starts at 12noon sharp. We will gather on Willapa Street in South Bend at 11:30AM.
The general election is coming up in November. A strong contingent of Democrats marching in the Labor Day parade will really help our candidates.

Menlo, WA – The Pacific County Democrats will host a booth at the Pacific County Fair from Wednesday, August 25th to Saturday August 28th to promote federal and local Democratic Candidates for office. The Pacific County Democrats’ booth will host candidates during the fair. Each candidate will talk with local voters about issues that are most important to Pacific County. Everyone is invited to join Pacific County Democrats and Democratic Congressional Candidates at the following times:

Charlie Wiggins has worked in Washington as both an attorney and judge for more than 30 years. A former judge with Division II of the Court of Appeals, Wiggins frequently sits as a pro-tem judge in Jefferson County. Wiggins’ opponent, Justice Richard Sanders, is a social conservative whose time on the court has been marked by political and ethical controversies as well as philosophical opposition to progressive causes.

Supreme Court: Stan Rumbaugh
Stan Rumbaugh will bring long-overdue change to the Washington State Supreme Court. Rumbaugh is an experienced Pierce County attorney with a long history of community activism. He serves on the boards of Bates Technical College, the Tacoma Housing Authority, several health care and social service groups, and other local organizations.
Rumbaugh will bring a record of balance and independence to the Court, in stark contrast to the incumbent James Johnson. Before his election to the Court, Johnson represented the Building Industry Association of Washington, Tim Eyman, and the Evergreen Freedom Foundation. As a Justice, Johnson has continued to serve his former employers by consistently ruling in favor of big business, land developers, and anti-environmental advocates. He has firmly established himself as an agent for conservative business and social interests, approaching cases as if he were a conservative legislator rather than a judge.

The Pacific County Democrats will be participating in the Willapa Harbor Festival Parade this Saturday, August 7. The parade will start at 12Noon sharp and we will be lining up at 11:15 at “Ugly Ed’s & Deb’s” on Third Street in Raymond. The parade is approximately 10 block long.

Ballots are being mailed out this week so look for them in your mailbox by Friday or Saturday.
A strong Democratic turnout in the primary will show the pundits that we are not willing to go back to the failed policies of the past.

Voter Registration Deadlines for the August 17, 2010 Primary Election
Voters currently registered anywhere in Washington State, who have moved or changed their name, have until Monday, July 19, 2010 to update their voter registrations. Residents may register to vote or update their registrations online at REGISTER TO VOTE ONLINE (https://wei.secstate.wa.gov/osos/secure/pages/Onlinevoterregistration.aspx) or by mail until Monday, July 19, 2010. Registered voters who fail to update their registrations by this date may vote according to their previous registration address.
It’s time for the Annual Pacific County Democrat picnic. This year the picnic will be on Sunday, July 18, starting at 12 noon and hosted at the home of Beverly & Glenn Olson (see directions below). Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, and Soft Drinks will be provided. Persons should bring salads or desserts and lawn chairs, if convenient.
